Candle Bulbs

As their name suggests, candle LED bulbs have shapes resembling candles, specifically their flames. So with the right combination of model, colour temperature, and light output, you can, for example, make your chandelier look like it is full of lit candles. Most of the candle bulbs emit warm light, which is ideal for relaxation and rest, as its orange-yellow hue helps our bodies prepare for a good night’s sleep. The best colour temperature (CCT) for this purpose falls between 1800 and 2500 Kelvins. If you are looking for neutral light, pick something with about 4000 K. Bulbs with CCT above 5000 K emit cold light, which stimulates focus and keeps us awake.
When it comes to light output, candle bulbs offer quite the variety - from rather dim, imitating real candlelight (135 Lumens), through rather neutral 470 lm, to quite bright 800 lm. This means that you can easily pick candle bulbs for both mood and general lighting. Although they can be used in most rooms, their decorative design makes them perfect for living rooms, dining rooms and other representative parts of the building. Despite being quite versatile, they are not a good fit for task lighting - it should utilise light sources with CCT over 5000 K.
All the bulbs presented here use E14 (also called Edison) bases - make sure your lamps are compatible with that before buying. Finding a suitable lamp shouldn't be a problem - E14 is one of the most popular types of bulb bases in Ireland and many European countries.
